“Dog’s Playground” is a dexterity game for dogs. It consists of a frame in which modules of various grades of difficulty can be used and offers three levels:  Kindergarten (grade of difficulty 1-2 Paws), High School (grade of difficulty 3 Paws) and University (grade of difficulty 4 Paws). The individual modules are placed within a wooden frame (the base). This base offers two variations for these modules. Exactly 4 Kindergarten, 4 High School or 2 University modules fit into the smaller base. The larger one is twice the size and can take 8 Kindergarten/High School or 4 University Modules (possibly also 4 Kindergarten/High School and 2 University Modules), the total number of modules for this game. Individual modules can be changed as you like, but the selected number of modules must always fill the whole base.

This game trains a dog’s concentration and dexterity, and encourages its natural instincts of curiosity, drive to play and sense of smell. Your dog will love you setting up the game, as this gives it the chance to prove itself to you. This will strengthen the bond between you and your dog as well as its self-confidence. The choice of different modules offers you many varieties of game design, making it suitable for beginners and advanced players.

How to play:

1. Let the dog watch as you set up the game to stimulate curiosity. Place the appropriate number of modules in the frame used as the base, and depending on which modules you use, hide your dog’s favourite treats in the appropriate openings.

2.
Encourage your dog to start searching. Be patient and show it how the game works. For instance, you could show it where a treat is waiting for it. This way you can ensure that your dog enjoys playing the game with you and can solve the task.

3. Change the modules and increase the difficulty level when your dog can solve the problems without difficulty. That way your dog is constantly dealing with new challenges, and the game provides a meaningful and appropriate activity that it enjoys.

Hints:

It is recommended that you start the game with easier modules (Kindergarten) and only to step up to High School and University when your dog can easily solve the first problems, thus successively adding more difficult modules to the game. The game should always present your dog with challenges it can solve. If after a few attempts the dog cannot solve the task it may lose motivation.

Never let your dog play unsupervised and intervene if it starts to chew pieces of the game. Regularly check the pieces for any damage such as splinters. Clean by wiping with a damp cloth, and do not use abrasive cleaners.
